It's truly a set it and forget extension.

After the initial set-up, which wasn't hard, the only thing I notice is the lack of ads getting in my face!
To get a five star review from me something has to be very close to perfect, which is what Ghostery is.

I just love being able to watch youtube in the browser and do not get interrupted by ads.

Works very well

Ghostery is a must have for FB and YT users. Don't browse without it. Particularly for YT it turns an unbearable experience into a very pleasant experience. It's also meticulously maintained.

I've left one other review for an extension (Noscript). I'm not a promiscuous reviewer. Ghostery makes the cut. Kudos to the author(s)

Been using for years, can't recommend enough

I create an account just to tell this. This is best than ublock origins actually, ublock is overrated just because of open source and no telemetry and analytics. It's much more efficient and effective in my end (android). Though not fast, like some video pop-up still showing after opening a site just block after. But overall the best one for me. You should block it in a DNS level.
