Read Aloud: A Text to Speech Voice Reader by LSD Software

by gwho, 5 years agoabsolute nightmare.
you can tell it to start reading from a new location after it has already started reading.
shortcut hotkeys don't work at all.
there is no shortcut for speed adjust.
it doesn't tell you what voice it's reading with when it's on auto select.
if you press previous, and there is no data loaded in its memory, it'll stop playing. this means you cannot go back farther than the current page. what garbage.
so many other problems that are basic obvious UX design flaws.
How does this have 4 stars? How does anyone use this without tearing their hair out?
If you only ever need to read from beginning to end then i suppose this gets 5 stars.

To fix this i open extension options and click test button. When test sound plays(which is very fast) then extension becames responsive and i can play other page i want without waiting or problem.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Mel, 5 days agoThe voice volume was so low I could not understand what it was reading. It was so low because the voice sound was coming through my Mac Mini M4 built in speakers and I was about 15 feet distant. There is no apparent means of choosing where the sound output goes.

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 19266537, 2 months agoread aloud works (and way too loud), but volume control has zero effect; only when slid to the extreme left does the volume mute (to zero).
