Noticer is a browser extension that watches web pages you choose and alerts you when they change. Noticer is private by design.

The short version
Noticer runs on your device. The pages you watch and your browsing history are stored locally on your computer.
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data.
We do not track you or build a profile.
Noticer requests access to a website only when you start watching it, one site at a time.

What data Noticer stores, and where
Your monitors and settings (the URLs you watch, optional element selectors, check frequency, the last-seen content used to detect changes) are stored locally using the browser's extension storage on your device. This data never leaves your device.
Noticer does not have any account, server, or analytics of its own. It does not send your monitors or page content anywhere.
Network access
To check a page for changes, Noticer fetches that page directly from your device. This request goes to the website you chose to watch, using your own connection, exactly as if you visited it. Noticer does not route it through any Noticer server.
Checks are sent without your cookies by default. If a site rejects the anonymous check (HTTP 401/403), Noticer retries once including your own cookies for that site, exactly like your own visit, and remembers that for the page (shown as "uses your session" in the list). The fetched content stays on your device, and you can turn this off in settings.
Noticer asks for permission to access a site only at the moment you start watching it (per-site), never for all sites up front.
If you uninstall Noticer, your browser opens a first-party goodbye page. Its address includes two coarse, non-identifying buckets (roughly how long Noticer was installed and roughly how many pages were watched, e.g. "7-29 days, 1-5 pages") so we can improve the product. It never includes the pages you watched, their content, or anything identifying you.
Permissions and why
alarms, idle: schedule periodic checks.
storage: save your monitors and settings locally.
notifications: show a desktop alert when a watched page changes.
activeTab, scripting: read the current tab's URL to pre-fill the form and inject the element picker when you click "pick an element".
offscreen: parse fetched HTML locally to read a selected element and to run faster-than-30-second checks, without opening visible tabs.
contextMenus: add a right-click "Watch this page" option.
host access (optional, per site): fetch the specific page you chose to watch so it can be checked.
Advertising / affiliate links
If enabled, Noticer may show a single deal/affiliate link derived only from the URL of a page you chose to watch (for example, an "open on the retailer" link). This link passes only a standard referral tag. No personal data or browsing history is used or shared. You can turn deal links off in settings.
Optional cloud upgrade (PageCrawl.io)
Noticer is made by the team behind PageCrawl.io. If you choose to upgrade to PageCrawl.io's cloud monitoring, that is a separate service you opt into, with its own account and privacy policy. Using Noticer's local extension never sends your data to PageCrawl.io.
Children
Noticer is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
