Tab Discarder keeps Firefox running smoothly by automatically unloading tabs you haven't used in a while. Discarded tabs remain visible in your tab bar and reload instantly when you click them — you won't lose any history or bookmarks.

💡 HOW IT WORKS

When a tab hasn't been active for longer than your chosen threshold, Tab Discarder unloads it from memory. The tab title and favicon stay visible in the tab bar. Clicking the tab reloads it normally. This is the same mechanism Firefox uses natively — Tab Discarder just gives you control over when and how it happens.

Tab Discarder requires only the permissions it needs: tab access (to detect activity and discard tabs), storage (to save your settings), and alarms (to check tabs on a schedule). No browsing data ever leaves your browser.
