BitDay is a living pixel day-cycle scene. This policy explains what data the website and browser extension use.
Location: We use your location to show local sunrise, sunset, weather, and sky. You can pick a city, or optionally share GPS after you tap “use my location.” We may also estimate a rough location from your IP (via api.ip.sb or geojs.io) if you have not chosen a place yet. Coordinates and your chosen place are saved on your device so the scene stays consistent.

Weather: With a location, BitDay requests weather and daylight data from OpenWeatherMap and/or Open-Meteo. Those services receive the coordinates needed for the request.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage — for example app opens, settings changes, and button clicks. The extension sends events to Google’s collect endpoint without loading remote analytics scripts. Analytics uses a random client id stored on your device; we do not use it to identify you by name or email.

What we do not collect: We do not ask for your name, email, passwords, payment details, health data, browsing history, or the content of other websites. We do not sell your data.
Storage: Preferences and location choices are stored locally (localStorage on the website; chrome.storage in the extension).
