Privacy policy for Facebook Messenger Flash
Facebook Messenger Flash by Netherium
Effective date: August 31, 2026
Facebook Messenger Taskbar Flash does not collect, transmit, sell, share, or retain personal data, message content, account information, browsing history, or analytics.
The extension runs only on messenger.com and Facebook's /messages pages. It locally examines the page title and visible unread or new-message accessibility indicators to determine whether the Messenger window should request taskbar attention. This page state is processed only in memory and is not logged, stored, or sent anywhere.
The extension does not make network requests and does not use remote code, advertising, analytics, telemetry, cookies, or external services.
Access to Messenger and Facebook message pages is required so the extension can detect a new unread indicator. The background component uses Firefox's window attention API only for the Messenger window that generated the request.
Messenger and Facebook are third-party services governed by Meta's own terms and privacy policies. This extension is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc.
If this policy changes, the updated policy will be published with the extension listing and will include a revised effective date.
