    Version 1.3.9

    Released Sep 5, 2026 - 60.8 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Captures linked-page network responses identified as image/*.
    • Records captured image URLs and response content lengths.
    • Adds captured CDN images only when their normalized URL matches an image associated with the requested Instagram post's article.
    • Supplements structured-data and central-image extraction without blindly downloading avatars, interface assets, or recommendation images.
    • Reports the number of matched and observed image responses in diagnostics.
    • Increased the delay before each Instagram post or reel to 8–12 minutes.
    • Removed the separate periodic rest after every 10 posts.
    • When Instagram returns HTTP 429 or displays a rate-limit page, Slow Mode now waits 6–12 hours and retries the same post instead of terminating the job.
    • Repeated rate-limit responses start another cooldown, and the job remains cancellable during the wait.
    • Retains the 2–4 minute genuine render retry and 3–8 second carousel delay.
    • Disables the download subfolder field and status-file picker while a job is active.
    • Disables image, thumbnail, video, and Slow Mode options until the job stops.
    • Re-enables all controls after completion, cancellation, or failure.
    • Removes the duplicated Slow Mode label from periodic status messages.

    Version 1.3.8

    Released Sep 4, 2026 - 60.07 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Requires positive owner verification before accepting a post discovered during an Instagram profile scan.
    • Skips posts owned by an account other than the source profile.
    • Skips posts whose owner cannot be verified instead of treating them as potentially slow renders.
    • Prevents unrelated Instagram recommendations from being downloaded or receiving a render retry.
    • Records the loaded location, canonical URL, and Open Graph URL when ownership cannot be verified.

This fixes cases where a valid reel from another account, such as a recommendation inserted into a profile page, was incorrectly reported as “failed to render.”

  • Version 1.3.7

    Released Sep 3, 2026 - 59.98 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Changed the separate Instagram rendering window from Firefox's popup type to a normal browser window.
    • Keeps the rendering tab active and the rendering window unfocused so Instagram can continue loading and scrolling content.
    • Allows the rendering window to remain behind other Firefox windows instead of receiving popup-style window-manager treatment.
    • Continues to refocus the GalleryFetch controls after creating the rendering window.

  • Version 1.3.6

    Released Sep 3, 2026 - 59.96 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Added support for Instagram's plural /reels/<code>/ URL format.
    • Normalizes plural reel URLs to the canonical /reel/<code>/ form before inspection.
    • Applies Slow Mode, structured-media extraction, owner validation, and render detection consistently to both URL formats.
    • Treats singular and plural reel URLs as the same post when resuming, preventing completed work from being reopened.
    • Prevents valid plural reel URLs from being incorrectly reported as failed to render solely because of their route format.

  • Version 1.3.5

    Released Sep 3, 2026 - 59.83 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Validates each Instagram post owner's username against the source profile.
    • Skips valid posts and reels owned by unrelated accounts when Instagram inserts recommendations into a profile page.
    • Uses profile-prefixed metadata, Open Graph URLs, and structured post data to identify the owner.
    • Records owner mismatches in diagnostics without downloading or retrying the unrelated post.
    • Prevents resumed jobs from reopening linked pages already marked inspected or skipped.
    • Limits resumed-job progress totals to pending, failed, and newly discovered links.
    • Keeps linked pages that yield no media marked failed so a later resume can retry them.
    • Reduces unnecessary Instagram requests that could contribute to rate limiting.
    • Adds a Status summary showing completed downloads, failed downloads, and downloads started during the current run.
    • Advises waiting a few hours after a failure and resuming with the newly saved GalleryFetch-status-…json file.
    • Records the failure reason and job ending time in the JSON status file.

  • Version 1.3.4

    Released Sep 3, 2026 - 58.77 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Detects when Instagram displays a profile, feed, recommendation, or other unrelated content instead of the requested post.
    • Records unrelated or redirected links as skipped without scheduling a render retry.
    • Adds the loaded location, canonical URL, and Open Graph URL to diagnostics when post identity validation fails.
    • Enabled Slow Mode by default for new installations and profiles while retaining an existing saved preference.
    • Increased the frequency of the 5–10 minute scheduled rest from every 20 posts to every 10 posts.
    • Reduced genuine failed-render retry delays from 5–10 minutes to 2–4 minutes.
    • Changed the Download button label to Download (will open new window) so the rendering-window behavior is clear before a job starts.

  • Version 1.3.3

    Released Sep 2, 2026 - 58.48 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Added structured-data extraction for Instagram posts, reels, and carousels, with rendered-page inspection as a fallback.
    • Improved carousel completeness and selection of the highest-resolution image and video candidates.
    • Detects redirects to an unrelated Instagram post and skips them instead of downloading the wrong profile's media.
    • Reuses an active tab in a separate 1200×900 rendering window so Instagram can continue rendering while the GalleryFetch controls remain visible.
    • Improved profile scrolling and collection of lazy-loaded posts.
    • Waits 60–90 seconds before opening each Instagram post or reel.
    • Takes a 5–10 minute rest after every 20 inspected Instagram posts.
    • Waits 5–10 minutes before retrying a post that did not render.
    • Waits 3–8 seconds between carousel slides.
    • Avoids a second long delay before downloading media already obtained through a delayed Instagram inspection.
    • Reduced the GalleryFetch controls window width and improved its responsive two-column layout.
    • Displays countdowns as MM:SS.
    • Keeps the destination folder synchronized when GalleryFetch is opened from a new Instagram profile.
    • Expanded status and diagnostic details for Instagram inspection, retries, structured media, and skipped redirects.

  • Version 1.3

    Released Sep 1, 2026 - 55.37 KB
Works with firefox 140.0 and later, android 142.0 and later
    • Resume files now start scanning automatically after validation while retaining source-page restoration, completed-download skipping, and retry handling.
    • Added a visible source-page panel that shows which URL a normal or resumed job will scan.
    • Added the extension version beside the GalleryFetch title.
    • Added resume-selection details to diagnostic logs.
    • GalleryFetch now opens as a reusable, persistent window instead of a temporary toolbar popup.
    • Source pages are scanned in temporary copies inside the GalleryFetch window, leaving the user's original tab and scroll position untouched.
    • Linked pages open in inactive tabs inside the GalleryFetch window and close after inspection.
    • Clicking the toolbar icon again focuses the existing GalleryFetch window and updates the selected source page.
    • Closing the GalleryFetch window during an active job now cancels the job; the interface displays a warning while a job is running.
    • Widened and reformatted the interface for clearer source URLs, options, progress, and status information.
    • Website access is requested from the toolbar-icon action so Firefox permits resumed scans selected through the file picker.
    • Removed obsolete instructions about keeping the mouse away from the page during scrolling.
