    • abbreviated units are the default (m, s, J, kg, L); a unit the
      page spelled out stays spelled out (petajoules → ↑17 joules,
      Pcal → ↑17 J)
    • ↑17.0 → ↑17: trailing .0 dropped
    • nothing between ↑-1 and ↑1 converts (5 kg, 0.6989700 stay put);
      a range converts if either end is outside the band
    • kilotons/megatons are mass again, not TNT-energy: 21 500 kilotons of
      TNT-equivalent       → ↑10.3 kilograms of TNT-equivalent; kt added (^6 kg)

    • quantities split across inline elements now convert: Wikipedia's
      89.9 <a>petajoules</a>, <b>5</b> kg, {{val}} digit groups
      (2 630 000 000), 9×10<sup>13</sup> joule — the parser reads ahead
      through inline siblings (stops at blocks, <code>, etc.)
    • 10<sup id=…>17</sup> and 10<sup>−12</sup> (attributes on the sup,
      unicode minus) now parse as exponents; citation sups (10[5]) don't
    • skip <cite>, <sup>, <sub>: PMIDs/DOIs in reference lists and
      exponent digits (c², s⁻¹) no longer convert
    • new units: BTU, quad, cal/Cal/Mcal/Gcal/Tcal/Pcal, tons/kt/Mt of TNT
      (energy); Mt/Gt (mass); liters/mL/gallons/m³/barrels (volume, in liters)
    • GW·h (middle dot) accepted alongside GWh/GW h
    • thousands grouped by nbsp/thin space (21 500) parse; plain-space groups
      only when a unit or multiplier follows (GPT-3 175B stays put)
    • em-dash is no longer a range connector: $3.1 million—42 times was
      becoming ↑6.5—↑1.6
    • digits glued to digits (Bibcode 30.2212K) no longer match mid-run
    • no stray space before /, -, — after a conversion (↑8.5 meters/s)
    • review.js: skip cite/math/sup/sub in the leftover scan; rejoin split text
      nodes so 21 kt shows as one leftover instead of hiding as 21
