Firefox Multi-Account Containers by Firefox

by vipguy64, 5 years agoAddendum 2: So, I got a new computer and I used this extensions sync feature. Regrettably, in the process of doing so my site lists for my containers were nuked. This has caused more headache for me than the privacy benefits are worth.
I'm finally uninstalling this extension.
Addendum: I didn't realize briefly turning this extension off would wipe out all my containers and settings for this extension. I turned it off for a bit since my Dad might need to use my browser for a bit and I didn't want him to be hassled by my extensions. So, I wish there had been a warning about this or a way to backup my containers and settings I've created over the past few months.
Original Review: Something I never knew I needed. Lots of user-friendly options such as being able to set a website to only ever be opened in one container. This means I don't have to first open a tab in that specific container then go to that website. Also, it's handy in preventing every social media in existence from tracking me since I've put each of them in their own container. Thank you Mozilla!

- Rated 5 out of 5by superoci, 4 days agoVery useful extensions, especially when you have multiple accounts on a site and don't want to constantly log in or out or when you just don't want a site to access data from other sites you visit on your main profile.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14013255, 10 days agoIt's only because of this extension that I use Firefox. Cool feature. There is no such option in any browser.

With the account sync, containers are also remembered across different computers as well, so I don't have to set up the containers on every new laptop or reinstall of firefox. Sometimes I mistakenly open a website in the wrong container because I don't always map every single website to a container, but most of the time it's a non-issue.
I'm surprised this is still an add-on and not a core Firefox feature. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18184964, 15 days agoIt doesn't work for me. I cannot create a container where I am logged into Google and simultaneously a container where I'm not logged in.

For me, the only thing missing is the ability to have “private browsing” containers and a way to always open in a container, for example when editing a bookmark.
