About this extension
No Shit Sherlock (DuckDuckGo & YouTube Filter)

A lightweight Firefox add‑on that cleans up your search experience by automatically filtering out known‑bad sites and limiting YouTube results to a sane date range.

What it does

1. Exclude Harmful Domains

How: Uses DuckDuckGo’s built‑in query modifiers to automatically hide results from a pre‑selected list of “nefarious” sites - e.g., corporate social media.

(Works with Google as well)

Customisation: The domain list is editable in the options panel, so you can add or remove sites as you wish.

2. YouTube Date‑Range Filter (AKA "2018 mode")

How: Appends before:2018-06-01 and after:2015-01-01 to every YouTube search, limiting results to a recent and relevant window.

Customisation: Both the “before” and “after” dates are fully adjustable in the settings, letting you set your own time bounds.

Keeps the web cleaner and safer without requiring you to scrub results manually.

Saves you time by surfacing only the content you actually want.
Works seamlessly on the native DuckDuckGo and YouTube interfaces.

Current status

Fully functional, but still experimental. New experimental features (may be removed or tweaked) can be found on the settings page.
