Not a Translator Experiment Pro (browser extension) · Last updated: August 2026
In short: This extension sends only the looked-up word or expression to the needed services. The reader and PDF viewer process page and document content entirely on your device. It does not collect your identity, history or location, does not track you, show ads or sell data.
What the extension does
Not a Translator Experiment Pro enriches the Not a Translator tooltip with images, SenseMap and RootMap, and adds a reader and PDF viewer so the same tooltips can work in long texts and PDF documents.
Reader and PDF viewer: local processingThe reader analyzes the current page in your browser to extract the article and remove menus, adverts and sidebars.
The PDF viewer downloads the PDF you explicitly choose to open from its hosting site and renders it locally.
No page content, document content or filename is sent to the developer or third parties by these features. Only individual words you look up leave the browser.
Broad site access
The Pro edition may request access to all sites (<all_urls>) because a PDF can be hosted on any domain and the reader works on the page you are reading. This permission is not used to inventory visited sites.
Data processed
For lookups, the extension transmits only the word or expression you choose. It does not transmit the full page, URL, surrounding text, your identity or other content.
