Privacy policy for PageStar
Effective date: July 30, 2026
PageStar is a Firefox extension for saving page markers, notes, excerpts, image annotations, tags, and related page metadata.
PageStar stores saved page URLs, titles, marks, notes, excerpts, images, tags, settings, backups, and recovery points in the Firefox extension profile. If remote sync is configured, PageStar also stores the configured WebDAV URL and credentials, or GitHub Gist ID, filename, and token, locally.
PageStar does not operate a PageStar account service, analytics service, advertising service, or data-collection server.
PageStar transmits data only in these cases:
- When you enable remote sync and grant Firefox’s data-transmission permission, PageStar sends a snapshot to your configured HTTPS WebDAV server or GitHub Gist. New sync profiles use client-side end-to-end encryption by default.
- PageStar may request the current or saved page URL to identify PDFs or recover a missing page title.
PageStar does not send saved content, credentials, or telemetry to a server operated by the developer.
Remote sync is off by default. You can disable it, remove local sync profiles and credentials, delete saved records, clear PageStar data, or uninstall the extension. PageStar does not run in Firefox private-browsing windows.
