PhiRM is a browser add-on that exports user-initiated AI conversations from supported AI chat pages, currently ChatGPT and Gemini, into DOCX and PDF documents.
Data collected or processed
When the user starts an export, PhiRM may process:
- the visible AI conversation content selected for export,
- formatting structure such as headings, lists, tables, code blocks and images,
- generated visual content or screenshots only when the user explicitly allows screenshot access,
- the PhiRM extension token used to authenticate the export request,
- technical request metadata required to operate the service, such as time of request, job status and error logs.
PhiRM does not monitor browsing activity.
PhiRM does not export conversations in the background.
PhiRM does not read unrelated web pages.
PhiRM does not sell user data.
PhiRM does not use exported content for advertising or training third-party AI models.
How data is used
The submitted content is used only to generate the requested DOCX or PDF export, provide the download result, authenticate the user, prevent abuse, debug failures and operate the PhiRM service.
Authentication
The add-on uses an extension token entered by the user. This token is used to authenticate export requests with the PhiRM API.
Clipboard access
The clipboardRead permission is used only when the user clicks “Paste and test connection” to paste the PhiRM extension token from the clipboard. PhiRM does not read the clipboard in the background.
Screenshot permission
Gemini visual exports may require screenshot access. This access is requested only for user-initiated exports and is used to capture visual results that cannot be reconstructed from the page DOM alone.
Storage
The add-on may store the extension token and local settings in browser extension storage so the user does not need to enter them every time.
Retention
Export jobs and temporary processing files are retained only as long as needed to provide the requested export, operate the service, troubleshoot failures and protect against abuse. PhiRM does not treat exported conversations as public content.
Third parties
PhiRM uses its own API infrastructure to process exports. Payment and billing, where applicable, may be handled by third-party payment providers. The browser add-on itself does not share exported content with advertisers.
User control
Users choose when to export. Users may remove the extension token from the add-on settings, revoke browser permissions, uninstall the add-on, or contact PhiRM regarding privacy questions.
