About this extension
Show Icons Only gives Firefox's Bookmarks Toolbar a compact, favicon-only appearance for website bookmarks placed directly on the toolbar. A favicon is the small website icon that represents a site. The extension never changes bookmark URLs, positions, folders, separators, bookmarks inside folders, or the favicons themselves.
Important: Firefox does not offer a setting that hides only bookmark labels. To create the icon-only appearance, the extension temporarily makes the actual bookmark title empty. Before doing so, it saves the exact title and URL in a verified local recovery backup. While icon-only mode is active, the same bookmark also appears without a title in Manage Bookmarks, the Bookmarks Sidebar, and bookmark menus.

Features:
- Show all website bookmarks placed directly on the Bookmarks Toolbar as favicons only with one switch.
- Keep titles visible for individual bookmarks whenever you choose.
- Your exact original titles are saved locally before anything is hidden.
- Restore all bookmark titles at any time, including before removing the extension.
- Check your backup, export a local copy, and import it again if recovery is needed.
- Interrupted changes are safely checked after Firefox or the extension restarts.
- The extension never sends bookmark data anywhere. It has no network access, telemetry, analytics, or advertising.
Important recovery limits:
- If you use Firefox Sync, an empty title may reach another device before the local recovery backup is available there.
- If you remove the extension directly through Firefox's Add-ons Manager, Firefox normally deletes the local backup before the extension can restore your titles.
- If Firefox user data or extension storage is deleted or damaged, only a previously exported backup can help recover the stored title information.
Use
Restore All Bookmark Titles or Restore Titles and Remove Extension before uninstalling. Users who need visible or spoken bookmark labels should leave titles enabled globally or for individual bookmarks. All processing happens locally inside Firefox.
