Twixy — Privacy information (browser extension)
Last updated: April 2026
This document describes how the Twixy browser extension (“Extension”) handles data when you use it on twitch.tv.
1) Who we are
The Extension connects to the Twixy service at https://twixy.cc (“Service”). For privacy questions, contact the operator of the Service using the support contact published on twixy.cc.
2) Data the Extension uses and sends
• Authentication: The Extension uses Twitch’s OAuth (via the browser’s identity flow). Access tokens needed for Twitch API features may be stored locally in the browser (extension storage).
• Twixy account: The Extension exchanges your Twitch authentication with the Twixy backend and stores a Twixy session token (JWT) locally to keep you signed in to Twixy features.
• Profile and social features: If you use Twixy profiles, friends, notes, or related features, corresponding data (for example Twitch username / user identifiers and content you save) may be transmitted to and stored on the Twixy servers as required for those features.
• Activity / presence: If you enable related settings, information about your online status and/or the Twitch channel you are viewing may be sent to Twixy so it can be shown to your friends according to your settings (including options to hide activity from specific friends).
3) Local storage
The Extension uses the browser’s extension storage to save settings, tokens, caches (for example avatars), and similar data needed for operation.
4) Third-party services
• Twitch (Amazon): OAuth, Twitch APIs, and twitch.tv pages are subject to Twitch’s policies.
• Twixy backend: Data needed for Twixy features is processed on servers operated for the Service.
5) Retention and deletion
Retention of data on Twixy servers is governed by the Service operator. You can typically stop sending new data by signing out / removing the Extension and revoking access in your Twitch connections/settings as applicable.
6) Changes
We may update this text when the Extension or Service changes. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
7) Legal basis (informational)
Depending on your region, legal bases such as contract performance and legitimate interests may apply to operating the Service and providing Extension functionality. See the Service website for any region-specific disclosures if provided.
