Architecture

popup.js / popup.html / popup.css — Extension UI. Pure vanilla JS, no frameworks. All DOM manipulation uses createElement/textContent — no innerHTML.
content.js / content.css — Injects a floating "ॐ Astro Check" button on supported matrimony sites. Draggable. Sends OPEN_POPUP message to background on click.
background.js — Service worker (MV3). Handles context menus and token expiry cleanup. Firefox uses the scripts fallback.

API

All computation happens server-side at https://vaidikvivah.com/api/extension. The extension sends birth details over HTTPS and receives JSON scores. No data is sent to any third party.

Permissions

storage — stores user's birth details and JWT auth token locally (chrome.storage.local)
activeTab — used only when the user clicks the toolbar button; never accesses tabs automatically
Host permissions — limited to the four supported matrimony domains plus vaidikvivah.com for the API

Payment

Premium subscription is handled on vaidikvivah.com via Razorpay (a PCI-compliant Indian payment gateway). The extension opens a new tab to complete payment; no card/UPI data ever enters the extension context.
