Vertical Bookmark Bar displays and manages the user's existing Firefox bookmarks, including the Bookmarks Toolbar and Other Bookmarks, as a vertical bar on ordinary web pages.
The extension processes the following data locally on the user's device:
- Bookmark titles, URLs, folder structure, and ordering, so it can display, open, add, edit, move, and delete bookmarks in supported bookmark locations.
- The current page URL when the user adds the current page as a bookmark, and the current hostname when applying configured visibility settings.
- Extension settings such as side, width, colours, font, auto-hide behaviour, and site-specific visibility entries.
- Page layout information needed to position the vertical bar and optional reserved page space. The extension does not transmit page content.
Bookmark data is read from and changed only through Firefox's bookmarks APIs. Display settings are stored in Firefox extension local storage. The extension does not create a separate bookmark store and does not send this data to a server operated by the developer or to any third party.
Vertical Bookmark Bar does not sell, rent, transfer, or use user data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to displaying and managing the user's bookmarks. It does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code.
Users can change or clear the extension's settings from the extension settings page and can remove the extension at any time through Firefox. Bookmarks remain under the user's control in Firefox's native bookmark manager.
