People with bad things to say seem to not be using the extension correctly or are encountering an issue with a particular video which is beyond the control and responsibility of the author(s) of the software. This app works great, it downloads most videos perfectly in multiple qualities and file types. You can also use it to copy the download link into another program like IDM if VDH won't capture the video. Some videos wont download but that isn't the authors fault, some sites use methods of encryption (for lack of a better term) to prevent people from downloading streams. When used with the paid conversion companion (https://www.downloadhelper.net/install-coapp), it is a great way to get MP3s from YouTube videos without the annoying extra step of converting files after downloading them. My only complaint would be that the conversion license is a bit pricey at nearly $30 but it was cheaper ($15-$20 if I remember correctly) when I bought it (at least 5 years ago) so I can't really complain.
