This is not really a Firefox add-on. When you first try to download a video, it makes you download a program that does the actual work, and then it shakes you down for money AFTER you've already downloaded a file, claiming it is doing conversion work, which it is most definitely not doing.

I've been a fan of VDH for several years now. It is quite dependable if you're needing a simple video capture tool for all your YouTube viewings, as well as a plethora of other sites.

Once you're wanting to get into the more intermediate needs of HQ vid capturing (4k, and sometimes even vids offering 1080s+60fps) , and converting mp4/flv into audio files, it can get a bit complex for some, with the need to install a separate app to combine efforts with this tool. Not to mention, "you can purchase a DownloadHelper/ConvertHelper license, so converted videos won't hold the DownloadHelper QR code."

Overall, I highly recommend this app if you want a capture tool that has easy to navigate options, and offers premium services if you have the means to pay for it.

Video Deownloadhelper is by far the best Firefox add on I have used. It works with almost any video you will want to download, and the developers are really good about keeping it up to date. If you find a video it won't work with, check for an update, that will usually do the trick.
