help! io need sound in my videos but they're all silent and i know i can hear in the browser when they're playing.. instead of posting the links to share, i gr5ab video to pout on my facebook but there's no sound

I used this add-on for over 10 years. I got a new laptop recently and added this add-on. Oddly, it asked me to install a secondary program. I did, and tested it on a short youtube video. As soon as it downloaded, File Explorer began to have problems. It would take minutes to open explorer and the downloads folder wouldn't open at all. I spent most of the day trying to figure out how to fix the issue. I couldn't delete the file that was downloaded from youtube or the folder it was in. Finally i uninstalled the app and the add-on and deleted the file in Windows Safe Mode and now things seem to be normal. WTF happened to this add-on??
