Version 13.0.2: Favicon fix for local networks
We fixed an issue where the extension tried to fetch favicons from local and private network addresses, which caused an unwanted permission popup in Chromium-based browsers. This no longer happens.

New Dashboard
This is the biggest update to Web Highlights since launch. A complete in-extension app view that brings the full power of the web app into the sidebar — no more tab-switching to find your research.

What's new
In-extension app view — browse all your research (pages, highlights, notes, tags, websites, authors, colors, AI summaries, AI chats, documents, images) without leaving the current page
Dashboard — stats bar (pages, highlights, tags, websites), contribution graph, recent pages & highlights with infinite scroll, learning tips
Advanced filters — filter by tag, color, website, author, media type, notes, and more. Combine with AND/OR logic. Quick filters from the search field.
3 view modes — Grid, List, Masonry. Choice is remembered per entity type.
Sort options — by date, title, highlights count, notes count
Multi-select & bulk actions — select multiple items and bulk delete
Cross-entity search — search across pages, highlights, AI summaries, and more from a single search bar
Drill-down — click a tag, website, or count to instantly filter related items
Hide/show fields — toggle visibility of metadata fields (favicon, date, description, URL, etc.) per entity type
Adjustable sizing — font size sliders and grid/list item size controls
Keyboard navigation — navigate the grid with keyboard; Macbook shortcut detection
Mobile-responsive — sidebar closes after navigation; grid layout adapts to mobile

We use the scripting permission to inject our content script programmatically into already open tabs. This is required so the extension works immediately after installation, without requiring users to reload their open pages.
