Dogear does not collect, transmit or store any personal information for the developer.

The extension communicates with exactly one server: the address you enter in its settings. That server is one you run and control. When you save a page, the extension sends that page's URL, title, description, preview image address and any tags or notes you typed to your own server, and nothing else.

The extension stores your server address and preferences locally in Firefox using the storage API. No analytics, telemetry, tracking or error reporting is included. No data is sent to the developer or to any third party. The extension requires no account.

The extension reads the content of a page only at the moment you ask it to save that page, and only to read the metadata the page already publishes for link previews.
