Enhancer for YouTube™ by Max RF

by M. Strain Jr., 8 years agoI almost forgot I even have this because it integrates so well into Firefox and is non-invasive. I love the options it gives me, and now it lets me finally block YouTube's autoplay, which has always re-enabled itself not long after I've stopped it. Enhancer for YouTube lets you use different themes for YouTube (I use Mint-Y Dark), and the cinema mode is pretty cool. Something else is that when you scroll down from the video as it's playing, a small version of the video could pin to the corner of your screen so you can watch and read comments at the same time. I also like the convenience of just spinning the center mouse wheel to control the video's volume.
I normally don't give 5 star reviews because I can often think of ways for things to improve, but I can't think of anything here. One feature that I find useless is the filters feature, which allows you to affect the brightness, contrast, blur, and coloring of the videos. There's absolutely no instance in which I'd want to do that, as it doesn't enhance anything about my YouTube experience, but I guess it's cool having it there for if bored people want to give Boogie2988 a purple face or watch H3H3 in grayscale. Why anyone would use Gaussian blur is beyond my comprehension. But I can't take off any stars for extra features.
Overall, I suggest that if you use YouTube every day like I do, you should try this out. It's the best YouTube enhancer I've tried out, and it really does improve my viewing experience.

So happy you are back!
You demonstrate the 'possible' is, in fact, achieveable. The “Can't be done!” naysayers… should just get the (bleep-ity-bleep) out of the way of the people doing it. I am grateful for this tool every time I use it... especially after a session on a device that doesn't have it's advantages. Thank you for the excellent work! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19882925, 8 days ago

- Rated 4 out of 5by –Phase–, 12 days agoLooks like the --main-text color option on the custom YouTube-DeepDark theme no longer modifies the color of comment text. Would be really nice if this could be fixed, as the default comment color, a bright white, looks kinda bad on DeepDark's black background.

I've been using Enhancer for years, and I'll never go back. - Rated 4 out of 5by peepeeman, 23 days agoSo this extension is AMAZING
problems:
there needs to be a way to get the old look of youtube back (optionally of course) such as the old player, thumbnails, square icons, etc.,
-
so i can hide shorts which is wonderful though the problem is I can't hide anything else like the sidebar, home page/feed, etc.,
IF these issues are resolved I will change my rating to 5 star thx - Rated 5 out of 5by vi, 24 days ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 16273138, 25 days agoThe desired resolution no longer works, I set it to 1440p and instead the videos start at 720p
