by Firefox user 19007388, 7 months agoThank you for unshittifying YouTube. All this machine dubbing and translation has GOT to go. At least make it opt in. Your next mission: make Google Maps (app and web version) NOT make machine translation default and an extra click to see what reviewers really wrote. Tech bros, please, cut all this gimmicky "AI" shit out.

- Rated 1 out of 5by DisplayName, 8 days agoDoesn't work for subtitles. YouTube keeps trying to translate to the language of the last video with subtitles.

posted a month agoSo you’ve been using the add-on for 7 days and it was working as expected. The notification you mention is a one-time, dismissible message that can also be permanently disabled in a single click.
Its only purpose is to inform users that they can support the project if they wish. This is entirely optional. The add-on remains fully functional regardless of whether a user decides to contribute or not—no features are restricted.
Even if you choose not to contribute, it’s hard to see how a one-time notification could significantly impact the overall experience.
Given this, a 1-star rating seems disproportionate and unfair. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19900978, a month ago
